Whittemore Park Middle School is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing rigorous standards, opportunities for college and career exploration, and a focus on innovation and critical thinking. Our school is committed to providing students with curricula that is challenging, differentiated, engaging, and technology-infused. Our students are able to earn high school credit in Google Basics, English I, Algebra I, and Geometry. Students also have the opportunity to explore careers in the STEM field in multiple courses. We have focused on providing students the opportunity to enroll in Project Lead the Way STEM courses including Computer Science, Design & Modeling, and Medical Detectives. We look forward to adding App Creators and Robotics and Automation to our course offerings for the 2019 - 2020 school year. At Whittemore Park, we provide students many opportunities to develop the life and career characteristics through collaboration with peers, acquiring soft skills, and participating in community & global events.
Our school received the following recognitions during the 2018 - 2019 school year:

Five students were recognized as South Carolina Junior Scholars.

One student was recognized as 2019 Duke TIP Scholar.

Fifteen students were inducted into the National Junior Beta Club.

One student was chosen to attend the Scholars Academy in Fall 2019.

Thirteen students were chosen to attend Early College High School in Fall 2019.

Willow Matyas was selected as our 2018 - 2019 Teacher of the Year.

Suzanne Gore was selected as our 2018 - 2019 Support Staff Member of the Year. Ms. Gore was a Top 5 finalist.
