Our school is helping all students develop the world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate in a variety of ways.
Crestwood High School (CHS), an exciting educational environment which houses students in grades 9-12, assists students in developing world-class knowledge through problem-solving, critical thinking, and a comprehensive educational experience. Due to the continuous focus of our mission Keeping Academics and Citizenship First and Foremost, 29 students graduated with an Associate of Arts degree and 51 with honors. CHS graduated 298 seniors who earned 84 LIFE, 58 HOPE, and three Palmetto Fellows scholarships. The total of scholarships offered to graduates was $3.45 million. Teachers participated in collaborative meetings several times throughout the month to plan instruction and activities that enabled all students to master the rigorous academic standards. Moreover, for the past two years, our teachers increased their capacity to provide engaging classroom instruction through their participation in South Carolina Teaching Standards 4.0 training.

Our Career and Technology Education (CTE) department provided opportunities for CHS students to learn and enhance world-class skills of critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, and communication. CHS is the proud home of two state presidents: Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). Additionally, our CTE teachers helped students enhance skills in digital literacy through various business education classes. Students were taught to think critically about the vast amount of information that comes their way every day through differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and formative assessments. A variety of teaching and learning activities with the integration of the one-to-one initiative were used to enhance students’ learning experiences. To further enhance instruction of technology, ActivPanels are installed in all classrooms and all content area classrooms have ChromeBook carts.
CHS, with its positive student-friendly environment, offered a variety of initiatives that exposed students to life and career characteristics. Furthermore, Junior ROTC, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), Civitans, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), etc. afforded students the opportunity to learn self-direction, integrity, perseverance, strong work ethic, and interpersonal skills.
The CHS administration and faculty will continue to work with community members to provide a well-rounded educational experience for all students. We invite you to visit our website or school for more information.
