Our school is helping all students to develop world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing them with a quality education targeting the necessary skills that will empower them to be successful in their lives and post-secondary endeavors. Our required academic courses are only offered at the college-preparatory level. This has helped our graduates to experience the rigor required to be successful at the post-secondary level or to articulate appropriately if they choose to go directly into a career after high school.
We are also increasing our students’ daily learning and interactions through the use of technology as we continue to undertake our one-to-one conversion during the 2019-2020 school year; this will increase and support the students’ 21st Century skills. Additionally, we are offering foreign languages at the third level in all of our world language courses to assist in preparing our students for the global workplace, a market that has become the norm in the 21st Century and the Boiling Springs, South Carolina community.
As a result of these adjustments, we have seen many positive impacts for the students of Boiling Springs High School. Our ACT 2018 composite score was 18.2, which is above the South Carolina composite. Our 2018 combined Reading and Math Composite SAT score was 1053, which is above the national average score. Our Advanced Placement scores are in the top less productive than normal; we have seen an increase in participation in AP courses among our students. Our college-bound student percentage is 87% for the class of 2019, and the amount of scholarship dollars earned has increased to $19,200,000.00 for the class of 2019. Also, our current graduation rate is the highest in our school history at 91.8%.
We are proud of what is taking place at Boiling Springs High School. We have seen our students move in a positive direction, as the curriculum has been adjusted and activities have been added to ensure that all of the Boiling Springs High School students receive a world class education. With the continued assistance of a student-centered educational community, excellent parent support, and a District Office that puts children FIRST, we will continue to ensure that the students of Boiling Springs High School receive the BEST educational opportunities in the great state of South Carolina.
