Dreher High School is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the S.C. Profile of the Graduate by demonstrating high levels of achievement in academics, the arts, athletics and service at the local, state, and national levels. Over 90% of the faculty have advanced degrees beyond the undergraduate level. Dreher was honored as a silver medalist by U.S. News and World Report among “America’s Best High Schools.” Our school is one of the first high schools in our state to be designated as an AP Capstone Diploma Program School and proudly graduated our first nineteen candidates this year. Dreher’s tradition is built on high standards in academics, arts, athletics and activities.

Academic offerings include over 20 AP offerings with passage rates well above the national average and six different engineering courses in our Project Lead the Way program. Other CATE opportunities include Heyward Career Center programs, addition of our Business Finance completer courses, and Teacher Cadet. Chinese, first pioneered at Dreher, continues to flourish in our world language department.
Dreher’s commitment to community includes student work with: Prisma Health, The American Cancer Society, the MS Walk, Families Helping Families, Harvest Hope, the American Red Cross, the United Way, 100 Black Men, the Backpack Weekend Program, the Wounded Warrior Project and the “Artists for Africa Project.”
