MCHS facilitated life and career characteristics success indicators through implementing a variety of partnerships and initiatives. Organizations such as, the National Honor Society and Beta Club, created multiple service-learning opportunities to assist with supporting the community in hurricane relief efforts. Our Army JROTC cadets, in collaboration with the Teacher Cadets and members of the Interact Club hosted five American Red Cross blood drives collecting more than 162 units of blood this year. In addition, the Student Advisory Council as well as Junior Leadership Academy promoted resilience and self-determination by serving as ambassadors within and outside of the school community. A valuable partnership was established between MCHS and the Harbor Freight Fellows Initiative allowing Marlboro County High School to collaborate with the business community to provide students with hands-on experience in learning a trade.
Throughout the school year there were various opportunities for students to engage in activities that stimulated growth in critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity. Teachers designed lessons that stimulated growth in the world-class skills. The incorporation of these
skills into the fibers of our school have yielded great successes. Building these support systems has led to improved graduation rates and increased scores on national and state standardized assessments. As a result of our continued work with educational stakeholders, we have minimized all barriers to success.
We believe that there is no limit to what our students can accomplish when all stakeholders work together towards developing college and career ready South Carolina graduates. We will continue to strive for excellence while providing “A Winning Education for Champions”. WE ARE MARLBORO!
