2018-2019 GFHS saw an increase in the students taking part in STEM course offerings to include PLTW Introduction of Engineering at the high school level and PLTW Robotics and Automation and PLTW Medical Detectives at the Middle School level. We are continuing to allow our students the opportunity to take part in the Senior Project Process. During the 2018-2019 school year, senior projects focused on community service ranging from sport camps to self-esteem, mentoring and leadership workshops, with all proceeds going to local charity. Students also present their projects to local business and community leaders with hopes of them becoming sustainable.
Great Falls High School 6th graders placed 2nd in their division of the Ole English Consortium Academic Challenge for the second year in a row. Our high school students visited Boeing Industries in Charleston, SC to be introduced to high tech careers. They also attended College Day at Winthrop University to talk to over 40 university, college, and technical school representatives.
The middle and high school teams designed Math/Science projects for the yearly Giti Tire district competition. The middle school team came in first place for the third year in a row.
