Rosemary Middle School is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by continuing to move forward with academic success and school-wide improvements. We fostered relationships with the various businesses in the Andrews area and we appreciated the support of our parents and community leaders. Their dedication and commitment to our school has made a positive difference for our staff and students.
Our students and staff have worked extremely hard this past school year to improve student achievement. Professional Learning Teams continued to allow our teachers the opportunity to learn and share a variety of proven teaching strategies and with the implementation of LDC (Literacy Design Collaboration) and MDC (Math Design Collaboration) students were provided with more literacy tools/strategies to use in all content areas. We continuously strive to make sure that all our children are successful; therefore, we will consistently: adjust classroom instruction via technology and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all diverse learners; raise the level of involvement of parents in the education of their children; encourage our students to always strive to do their best; provide on-going professional development for all faculty and staff; and continuously assess student progress with mastery of standards and end results to ensure all students know they are cared for, that student leadership is nurtured, and that contributions to the school and world are celebrated.
Our Fine Arts Department continued to excel in all areas. The visual arts department had numerous students receive recognition at our district’s Art show, while the Drama/Show Choir/Chorus participated in various shows throughout Georgetown/Horry County.
To help address issues with some of our At-risk young men, we continue to implemented a mentoring program, Boys Nurtured to Lead, to provide the young men with necessary skills to be successful in school and in the community.
At Rosemary Middle School, our focus is on student learning. We continually strive to be academically, socially equitable, and developmentally responsive so that all of our students learn in a safe and student-centered environment. We continue to analyze our assessment data for the purpose of improving our practices and to ensure that our students receive the best educational opportunities possible.
