At the Advanced Studies Magnet - Haut Gap Middle School, we are helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. World Class Knowledge - World Class Skill - Life & Career Characteristics. Our staff infuses creativity and innovation to increase the rigor within researched based student activities. We feel that critical thinking and problem solving coupled with collaboration and teamwork pushes our students to think independently. The HGMS Mission Statement:
As a Haut Gap Middle School student, I am an individual who is committed to understanding my work and a learner who prefers a challenge and independent mastery. I am a positive manager of perceived obstacles, a problem solver, and an independent thinker who is invested in my learning.
We are very proud of our staff and students for showing another year of positive growth on NWEA MAP. We are excited to announce that grades 5-8 had a positive growth in both English Language Arts and Math in all classes. Students and staff worked diligently to improve scores and show learning growth from fall to spring. We look forward to capitalizing on these advances and continue to grow next year.
