Through the hard work and commitment of our students, teachers, parents, and the community, WHS students continue to excel and prepare to be successful citizens. It was a great year to be a Razorback! Our school family worked very hard to build community and reach out to stakeholders for input on how we can improve the educational opportunities for all children. The School Improvement Council was recognized as the most outstanding SIC in the State and received the Riley Award. The athletic department continued to partner withSouthern Wesleyan University to begin a mentoring program and our athletic teams hosted several programs to make an impact on the elementary aged children of our area.
Our teachers continued to grow and prepare for blended learning by increasing their applications of our online learning management system and preparations for becoming a one to one school using chrome books. Through the support of our teachers and parents the class of 2018 had 14 Palmetto Fellows, 159 Life Scholars and over $5,500,000 in scholarships. Every athletic team at WHS made the playoffs for the 2017-2018 school year and many teams had historical seasons.
We are dedicated to promoting a positive culture where all students and families feel welcome and involved in the educational experience at Walhalla High School. Toward meeting this goal, we are working on ways to help families become more informed about opportunities for student engagement and parental involvement. Our hope is for students and parents to feel valued and know that their voice matters.
We invite and encourage your input and involvement on SIC.
