R.B. Stall High School is committed to serving the students, families, and community of North Charleston. Our vision to be an innovative learning community that inspires all to build a better future is complemented by the expectations set forth in the Profile of a South Carolina Graduate.R.B. Stall High School directly supports combining World-Class Knowledge and Skills, such as critical thinking and collaboration techniques, with Life and Career Characteristics, such as work ethics and interpersonal skills, to produce graduates who are well prepared to enter into college or to begin their career.
R.B. Stall High School was recognized for the third year as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School. Students experience the daily practice of engagement, affirmation, and respect that comes through personal relationships with teachers and peers. These connections develop a culture within the school and classroom that fosters collaboration and mutual respect. The ability to understand individual perspectives and appreciate varying points of view are critical for our students to graduate prepared to engage in authentic collaboration in college, in their careers, and in their communities.
Critical thinking is also emphasized to help students reach their academic goals. Our focus on rigor in all coursework develops students with the highest levels of academic readiness. Students are challenged to demonstrate college readiness by enrolling in one of 13 Advanced Placement courses offered at R.B. Stall High School. Students are challenged to think critically while participating in numerous authentic work-based learning experiences. Our students have opportunities to take part in school-based enterprises in the areas of Marketing, Digital Art and Design, and Finance with our school-based branch of Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union. Students also experience exceptional learning opportunities off-campus through internships and apprenticeships in a variety of STEM career-fields.
The Life and Career Characteristics that we continued to focus on this year were in the areas of work ethics and interpersonal skills. In addition to our academic standards, teachers assessed every student’s proficiency in these areas on student report cards. Athletics, JROTC, Student Government, Band, Chorus, Steel Drums and various other clubs and service organizations allow even more opportunities for our students to develop these characteristics.
We are proud of the opportunities our students have inside and outside the classroom to embody these traits. Combining World-Class Knowledge and Skills with Life and Career Characteristics, R.B. Stall works to ensure that all students have the tools they need to be successful.
