Using the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate as a foundation, our staff and students remain focused on preparing for the future. Whether in academics, athletics, fine arts or community service, our students, teachers, administrators, Board of Trustees and our community worked together to continue to create a unified culture of excellence. With our students at the center of all that we do, we have embraced our guiding principle of “ALL IN. Every Child, Every Day- Whatever It Takes”.
Continuing with development of World Class Skills, teachers in Spartanburg 3 were immersed in Project Based Learning training with the Buck Institute. The knowledge and experience gained through this training was applied to the classrooms where students were able to begin the process of learning to work collaboratively with peers to solve real world problems. Through Project Based Learning students are also introduced to creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and communication.
With programs like The Leader In Me, The Energy Bus, and Compassionate Schools, students were introduced to the characteristics of integrity, self-direction, perseverance, work ethic, and interpersonal skills from a local to global perspective. All schools also provided opportunities for students to give back to the community, whether through completing a sock-drive, providing relief for hurricane victims, caroling in the community, or participating in a community day of service, students in Spartanburg School District Three have been afforded the opportunity to develop and practice life skills while giving back to communities near and far.
For students who needed additional interventions to reach grade level targets, teachers provided individual assistance based on data from common assessments. These assessments ensure that all students have access to the same curriculum and are thus ready for the challenges that are ahead as they continue their education and look toward graduation
One has only to follow the social media of the District to see the tremendous accolades our students and teachers receive for athletics, arts, and academics. In telling our story, our communities support our schools and champion their successes everyday.
Our Board of Trustees and administration are to be commended for their hard work and dedication to the students in Spartanburg School District Three and their continued support to high quality education and the safety of our students.
