Our district is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by making certain our students are graduating from high school prepared for the next step. Through the innovative and effective applications of technology, personal, and digital learning in our schools, we have been able to significantly increase our graduation rate from 64% to over 80% within the last few years. This is a strong indicator of our dedication to the success of our students.
Our partnerships with local businesses, community and faith-based organizations play a vital role in a child's education. Our partnerships help support our pledge to provide each and every student with comprehensive educational opportunities to become life-long learners and productive citizens.
Marlboro County School District believes that a quality education is critical to a child's future success and is committed to providing a solid foundation for learning along with social skills that support meaningful interactions throughout life. Whatever path a child chooses - college, career or military, Marlboro County School District represents an important step in the journey toward adulthood.
Marlboro County School District partners with Northeastern Technical College to help make a reality that every student has an opportunity to graduate high school with a two-year associate degree or job-related technical certificate, such as but not limited to cosmetology, practical nursing, or welding.
Our dream of an Industry Training Center is clearly in sight. Developed by in partnership with Northeastern Technical College, the Marlboro Economic Development Partnership, the Marlboro County School District, the North Eastern Strategic Alliance, and industry partners, the center will partner with area industries to train workers for industrial and manufacturing jobs. It will operate in a state-of-the-art building located centrally in our county to better serve our students and citizens. The center will include fully functioning training classrooms and a number of labs to support specialized training needed by individual industries for their workers. Additionally, the center will be able to support programs that can offer options for high school students while they are currently completing their high school programs.
Through the frameworks of professional development, leadership, support, and academic excellence, we will remain true to our mission to educate and enable all students to achieve their highest potential. The District theme for this year was Every Student, Every Day, Whatever It Takes. As such, every division, every department and every school has worked hard to make this a reality in preparing our students for the next level.
