Lee County School District continues to embrace the South Carolina Department of Education's endorsement of the 'Profile of the South Carolina Graduate'. It is our goal to equip our students with World Class Knowledge, World Class Skills, and Life and Career attributes. The District's 378 faculty and staff serve approximately 2,000 students from Pre-K-12th grade. We are committed to implementing innovative and cutting edge practices to equip each of our students with 21st Century skills.
Through varied learning experiences such as college level courses, arts integration, athletic opportunities, and 1:1 instructional technology, we are able to increase the academic capacity of our students. Our most recent graduating class consisted of 157 seniors who earned a record high of $6,035,980.00 in college scholarship offerings. This amount exceeds amounts raised by other high schools in our state with higher enrollments. We are pleased and humbled by this accomplishment and applaud our students for their academic achievement.
Our Early College Program, through partnership with Central Carolina Technical College, provides invaluable opportunities for our high school students. Currently, we have 35 students who are enrolled at the college in the Early College initiative. We offer supplemental extended learning through tutoring, virtual education, and 21st Century after school community learning centers.
Our partnerships with community organizations assist us in various aspects of educating our students. We are pleased to work collaboratively with local businesses and faith-based organizations, as we provide each student with comprehensive educational opportunities to become life-long learners and productive citizens.
Our governing board, staff, and I will continue to pursue and implement programs that will develop our students into global citizens of tomorrow who are prepared to lead and excel in their chosen pathways.
