Jasper County School District is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a variety of learning opportunities for students to cultivate the social and academic skills needed. We expect excellence in academics, arts and athletics. Through these avenues students excel and gain valuable life tools to be college and career ready. Our four schools are committed to continuous learning through ongoing professional development. Literacy Instruction is a primary focus; therefore, we have highlighted our efforts on literacy instruction K-12. All K-8 schools employ a full-time curriculum specialist and reading interventionist who both provide professional development and instructional support. Collaboration with the Technical College of the Low Country (TCL) and the University of South Carolina Beaufort are key to providing students opportunities for dual credit. Through Career and Technology Education (CATE) our students are afforded the opportunity to enroll in a variety of courses to prepare them for future success. Our Academic success is evidenced through Ridgeland Elementary School being recognized by the South Carolina State Department of Education for being the most improved elementary school in the state for growth on the summative assessment. Our 2018 graduates were offered $3.9M- in total scholarship money. Further, extra-curricular offerings help to develop students’ skills in teamwork, work ethic and interpersonal skills. Some of our extra-curricular offerings, but are not limited to, include sports, band, chorus, and service learning opportunities. Though we have many celebrations to be proud of, we will not settle for the mere status quo. Jasper County School District will move forward with a high level of excellence, rigor and commitment to our students and staff.
